Mobile Endpoints

An increasing number of mobile devices, such as phones and tablets, are able to support video calls. This is generally done using an "app" which is installed. The Medical Council of New Zealand has outlined: "Any device, software or service you use for the purposes of telehealth should be fit for purpose and must preserve the quality of the information or image being transmitted." While mobile devices can be convenient, the inconsistent quality of video and audio means they are ideally suited for non-clinical scenarios.
